Attractions for children in Tiberias - a world of experiences in the Galilee
Many Israelis choose to come to the north on their family vacations, until this became a commonplace. For most Israelis the "North" is a magical, free, natural area full of mountain air and springing water. And this description is indeed not far from the truth. For this reason, many parents choose to come with their children on vacation in the Tiberias area, and try to find what can be done in the area and how to keep the children busy.
Luckily for us, the Tiberias area has a great attraction, completely free, and whose fun never ends. This is of course our beloved Kinneret. But at the same time, for those who don't want to stay only on the banks of the Sea of Galilee, we have put together a list of some recommended and popular attractions in Tiberias and the area.
It is important to understand whether you want to stay only in Tiberias or leave it, then you may have to travel with a car (your own, or rent one from a car rental agency in Israel). In addition, you should understand what type of attractions you would like to do, and what your budget is. There is no such thing as an expensive and short extreme sport, like a nature trail that costs entrance to the reserve.

Hamat Tiberias National Park
The first attraction on the list is both an attraction and an educational site that is very much worth a visit, and is right at the southern end of the city of Tiberias. These are the springs that are actually the source of the Hemi Tiberias spa site, and around them is an impressive and fascinating archaeological site. In the territory of the reserve you can view ancient and beautiful mosaics from synagogues that were here, even two thousand years ago and more. In addition, you can see the Turkish bath, which is also hundreds of years old. Bring your bathing clothes, flip-flops and robes - as well as a packed lunch - and spend several hours in this fun place. It is recommended to check in advance that the site is open, as it is sometimes closed for occasional renovations.
Lantern tours to the Sea of Galilee
Most of us are used to the view of the Kinneret during the day, under the (sometimes shining) sun. But what about watching it at night? And what do the groves and bushes that border it have to tell us after sunset? The settlements and kibbutzim that were established on the banks of the Sea of Galilee around the founding of the State tell a multitude of stories of heroism and heritage, and you can hear these together with the children during the lantern tours that are held along the shore of the lake. One of the tours offered is the one that departs from the Ahalo Mansion Hotel, about a quarter of an hour's drive from the city (you can also get there by bus). This is a tour of about an hour and a quarter, suitable for all ages, and allows you to get to know a little more about the mystery of the fascinating area, as well as to watch the Sea of Galilee in all its glory after dark.

Self-guided cruise in the Sea of Galilee for the whole family
Water sports are not cheap, but it is hard to compete with the great fun it brings to children and adults alike. In recent years, this attraction has jumped a level, when attraction companies started offering self-guided motorboat cruises, one where the responsible adult drives the boat, while the family members enjoy the water, the breeze and the waves. In addition, there are companies like "Havima" that allow you to use a dedicated navigation and guidance application, in order to reach specific destinations on the banks of the Sea of Galilee and thus discover its charms even more. There is no doubt that this is one of the most worthwhile attractions in the Sea of Galilee, and one that is recommended for both families and groups. Don't miss the opportunity.
The jungle is fun in a seed house
There are no real zoos in the Sea of Galilee, but that does not mean that there is no possibility to learn about animals, get close to them and enjoy them here as well. At Kibbutz Beit Zera near Tiberias you can enjoy the Fun Jungle, which is actually an interactive animal farm for the whole family and all ages. At the farm you can meet birds of various species, reptiles, rodents, monkeys and other mammals. The children will be able to watch, touch, learn and experience the animals, along with other activities such as inflatables, water installations and more. This is an attraction where you can spend a whole day, and its cost is accessible to every pocket. If you want to add to the facilities offered on the spot, you can pre-schedule self-driving field trips, creative corners for children, sessions for groups and more.
Aqua fun Kinneret
If you thought you knew all the types of water parks, think again. Aqua fun is not only a water park, but it is a park on the water. This is a park made entirely of inflatables floating on the water, where you can jump, slide, climb and get really wet. This is a wonderful attraction for the whole family, one that will leave you wet, satisfied, and with your tongue hanging out at the end of the visit. The park contains several complexes depending on the age of the participants, so it is also suitable for families with children of different ages. It is located on Ganim beach in Tiberias, so if you are staying in the city you can reach it on foot or by public transport.
