In Gan Yavne, about a twenty-five minute drive from Kiryat Ekron, is a wonderful world that if you bring your children to, they will never forget the experience. We all know that chocolate can do wonders for the soul, and that this sweet wonder is a love shared by the vast majority of the earth's inhabitants. There are those who will claim that most of their diet is based on it (we hope this is not true...). At Meli's chocolate boutique, all these feelings are expressed in one place. Meli is a special education teacher by training, and an avid chocolate lover. She decided to create her workshops in a model that suits an emotionally adapted atmosphere, so that it is not just about working with melted chocolate in pre-prepared molds. For Meli, chocolate is a place for self-expression, teamwork, making friends and more. The sweet taste of the sundae will stay with you long after you return home.
Eve's farm
For the animal lovers among us, Chava's farm in Kibbutz Hefetz Chaim (about twenty minutes drive from Ekron) is the place to be. The farm, which operates in a regulated and well-supervised manner, allows the children a direct encounter with animals of many types and species, as well as a glimpse of the farm world in its full power. The tours at the farm include riding donkeys, baking pita bread, meeting animals in a living corner, traveling by train to the kibbutz's barn and many other surprises. This is a full day experience, or at least half a day, and one of the most exciting attractions that can be on your trip. There is no doubt that the children will thank you. Just saying that you should check the availability of the place in advance, because sometimes it is closed for pre-booked activities of closed groups.

Monkey Sanctuary Park
If you and the children love animals and want to make an important contribution to animals in need, the monkey park is the place for you. This is a shelter for monkeys caught in illegal possession, and those who have been abused. They are transferred by the authorities to the monkey sanctuary in Kfar Daniel (about half an hour's drive from Akron), where they are rehabilitated and re-socialized. Most of the park is not accessible to visitors, in order to allow the injured monkeys an undisturbed rehabilitation process. But there is a part of it that is open to visits by individuals and groups, where you can learn about the activities of the farm and the monkeys themselves. There is no doubt that this is an exciting experience and an encounter with a very intelligent animal, a combination that will greatly enrich your trip.
Tower Tag complex in Rehovot
If you have lived in Israel in recent years, you have probably heard about the laser tag complexes, complexes where battles between individuals and groups take place using laser guns. Sort of a more sophisticated and harmless version of the much dirtier game of paintball. So at the Tower Tag complex they decided to take the game one step further. In Tower Tag, the laser tag game is combined with virtual reality glasses, so that you see the balls and use the virtual space you see in your glasses just as if it were a real fight. You will hide behind fences and towers, you will feel that you are running in a three-dimensional space, and in general you will have a much more realistic experience than in traditional laser tag complexes that you may have already visited.
The water park in Yavne
If you are traveling in the Kiryat Ekron area in the summer, you will definitely want to find an attraction for you and the children that includes water, one that will refresh you in the heavy summer heat. The old water park in Yavne can certainly meet this need. Thirty similar lawns, pools, slides and facilities, designed exclusively for you and the children. It's a refreshing, joyful and solidifying experience, and there is no doubt that the children will thank you for it. Just don't forget sunscreen.
