Culinary in Kiryat Ekron: taste everything

Come and get to know the city through the stomach and try unique flavors that only Kiryat Ekron and the surrounding area have to offer: from great ice creams to Yemeni foods, you will find everything there.

Culinary in Kiryat Ekron and the surrounding area - an experience of wonderful flavors

As a relatively small local council, it will not be surprising if it is said that the culinary offer of Kiryat Ekron is not particularly great. However, visitors to the area certainly have something to look forward to. Both in Kiryat Ekron itself and in its surroundings you can find culinary gems that will add a lot to your trip. The area of Kiryat Ekron is full of people of all kinds and of all kinds of ethnicities, and so is the list in front of you. From Yemeni food, to Ethiopian cuisine to strictly American food, you can find all these and more here.

Of course, when talking about an independent culinary tour around Kiryat Ekron, it will be very difficult for you to do it by public transportation. Therefore, if you are coming on vacation in the area, the recommendation is to arrive in your own car, or rent from a car rental agency in Israel, and thus "stab" the points on this list and the others not here, for a complete and delicious experience.

Khawaij soup

Out of respect for the significant Yemeni population of Kiryat Ekron, the list opens at one of the most famous Yemeni food restaurants in Israel. To an outsider, the place will not look like anything special. The restaurant is located inside a gas station at the edge of Kiryat Ekron, with a not very inviting sign, in an old building. A classic roadside restaurant. The design inside the restaurant is also extremely simple, reminiscent of a workers' restaurant. But as soon as you order the food, you realize that you have arrived at the real thing. The sour cream and the slaw, the soup and the fenugreek, the sweets - all of these feel as if they came directly from Sana'a. The reactions are laudatory, the prices are low, and the appetite is healthy. Just don't forget to prepare for the spiciness of the food, or be sure to ask for non-spicy food. Otherwise you will eat it.

The Ben & Jerry's factory store in Yavne

Until not many years ago, you could not find Benjamin and Gershon's ice cream, oh sorry, Ben & Jerry's, anywhere in Israel. But that is distant history. Today the American brand conquered the stores, and became a real symbol. With the unique flavors and the sophisticated names (did you know there is ice cream flavored with crushed ice?), it seems that Ben & Jerry's manages to hit every possible taste. In the company's factory store, which is a fifteen-minute drive from Kiryat Ekron, you can find a huge selection of flavors that you didn't even know existed, and some of which never made it to stores. You won't get the ice cream in the familiar closed cups, but in a real cup, like regular ice cream. A sweet and unusual experience. Just don't forget to drink water.

Robida

When you get to Kiryat Ekron, to some extent you dive back into history, to the founding of the state. And this is even more true when it comes to the next door neighbor, Mezkarate Batia. At the Robida restaurant located in the moshav, they decided to use this atmosphere and take it to the next step. Chef Amos Hayon decided to take an ancient building, more than a century old, and renovate it while strictly maintaining the local atmosphere. The cuisine he creates in the restaurant is a distilled concentration of the flavors of the Mediterranean, from Spain to Turkey, from Italy to Israel. Furthermore, the Robida restaurant advocates "Farm to Plate", which means they get most of their raw materials from nearby growers, which is also why the menu changes accordingly. The price is not cheap but not particularly expensive either, and the experience is one of a kind.

Gojo Rehovot

As part of the international tour of the kitchens around Ekron, here we have brought you one of the most famous and highest quality Ethiopian restaurants. At the Gojo restaurant in Rehovot (about fifteen minutes' drive from Kiryat Ekron) you can get to know (or indulge in) Ethiopian cuisine in all its shades. Of course, the basis of the meal is the excellent injera served here, and in addition to it a host of authentic dishes of the highest quality. In addition, this is a restaurant with incredibly affordable prices compared to Metzoi. recommended.

Bishkek

For the carnivores among us, Bishkek is the place for you. This is an all-you-can-eat brewery and steakhouse, and here they know what they're talking about. These are farmers from Dupalm, those who have been raising sheep for years and specialize in all types of meat, who decided to bring all their authenticity and all their experience to one place. Bishkek is located in Mishmar Ayalon (about a twenty minute drive from Kiryat Ekron), and is a pilgrimage center for many. The excellent beer, the portions that are hard to compete with, and of course the great abundance, all these are hard to resist. It is not a cheap experience (but also not very expensive in relation to the value), but for fans of the genre this is the place to be.

In conclusion, Kiryat Ekron by itself is not particularly rich in culinary institutions, and its strength is found elsewhere. At the same time, this does not mean that those who visit it have nothing to look for in the field of restaurants. Both within it, and within a short drive from it, you can find a wide variety of restaurants and eateries of the highest quality. Furthermore, the human diversity that exists in the region allows a multitude of cuisines to find their place here, and travelers to the region are the biggest beneficiaries of the vibrant and authentic culinary scene. So get in the car, and if you don't have one, then you are welcome to use the car rental services in Kiryat Ekron, and go wild over the exciting menus of the restaurants in the area. You are guaranteed an experience of wonderful flavors.
