A visit to glilot: nature in person
Nature and landscapes in Gilil and the surrounding area - an experience for all the senses
For most of us, Gillot simply reminds us of an interchange, or a gas station, or a movie theater. But apparently almost no one comes to mind in response to the word "rolls" an image of verdant expanses, or crashing waves, or spectacular blooms. But all of these and more are natural gems that can be found a short (or really, really short) distance from Gollum. Not everything is suitable for every season, and not every site is suitable for every type of group or family, but there are enough options for everyone to find something that suits them. The choice to go out into nature even when visiting Galilot is not self-evident, and has a lot to do with the dissociation that most of us have in relation to nature when we think of Gililot. At the same time, it is certainly possible to get in the car, whether your car or a car you rented from a car rental agency in Israel, and arrive from the hills to nature sites with a spectacular view. do not miss.

Yarkon Park (Yohshua Gardens)
The famous park, located in the municipal area of Tel Aviv but touching several cities, is considered by many to be the "green lung" of the center. For those who do not know, it is said that this is a huge park (in Israeli terms), close to 4,000 dunams in area, extending along both banks of the Yarkon River. The park includes walking paths, bike paths, sports fields, options for renting kayaks and boats for sailing in the lake, and more. At the end of the day, this is a site that allows you to spend a whole day in the heart of the center, but feel that you are surrounded by nature.
Sharon Coast Nature Reserve
At a distance of a quarter of an hour's drive from Gilolit, there is a spectacular national park, which includes Kurkar cliffs, pristine beaches, rich vegetation and a multitude of animals. The Sharon Beach National Park is a rare escape from the hustle and bustle of the center, and allows its visitors to surrender to the silence of nature and the lapping of the waves. In the National Garden you can find several circular or linear walking paths, a sand pit where the children can slide and go crazy, and watch the season with the stunning blooming of the irises. In addition, for the adventurous among you, a hiker's parking lot has been arranged in the National Park for those who want to sleep in the field, and enjoy the million stars in the sky.
Ben Shemen Forest
If you decide that as part of a visit to Gilol you want to really get into nature, experience it and take a walk in it, Shear Ben Shemen is probably the place for you. The forest is about half an hour's drive away from Gollum, and embodies within it such a large number of possibilities that there are people who enjoy varied trips in it for many years. In the Ben Shemen forest you can choose between hiking trails, bike trails of different levels of difficulty, jeep tours and even scenic routes in a normal family vehicle. You can also bring food with you and have a picnic (don't forget to pick up the trash), or dine in one of the many restaurants located within the vast forest.

Sidna Ali beach
Further to the southern part of the Hasharon Beach National Park, Sidna Ali Beach is located. The beach is named after the mosque that has existed there since the end of the fifteenth century. The beach is a famous and beautiful recreation place, one that attracts visitors from all over the country in all months of the year. The secret of the beach's appeal is its dramatic Kurkar cliff that rises sharply above the beautiful sandy beach, allowing those who want to climb the cliff and prepare a sunset coffee. The place is especially loved by couples, providing both a great option for bathing and a romantic view of the sunset.
Eco Park Gillot
Right next to the Gillot interchange, north of Ramat Aviv, the Gillot ecological park was established. It is about the restoration of an area that was adversely affected for decades due to its proximity to the highways and the main traffic routes of the State of Israel, a restoration that turned it into a beautiful site that is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Baku Eco Park is worth visiting especially in winter and spring, when its winter pool fills up and the blooms are at their peak. There you can take a walk in the Drezner Grove, as well as visit the ancient Afka Caves, burial caves dating back to the Byzantine period where a host of archaeological treasures were found (including a cache of coins). The route in the park is short and circular, about 1.5 km long, and is suitable as a short family outing, and a bridge between activities.
Yarkon National Park and the Nufer pool
If you have come to visit Galil in the summer, and you are looking for a trip in nature but also one that will allow you to enter the water to refresh yourself, Yarkon National Park (or Mekorot Yarkon) is the place for you. This is a large park with a variety of hiking trails, and most importantly - a significant number of points where you can enter the water, including the famous Nofer pool. Yarkon National Park is about a 20-minute drive from Gilol, and is an ideal destination for an afternoon's entertainment. You can even equip yourself with a barbecue in advance and make a fire in the park area in the permitted places (just be careful and make sure to put out the fire well before leaving).
